The Hourglass and The Kites
As I looked above
past sea and sky
I saw two kites
and an hourglass in the stars
In perfect form
the two kites were pyramids
Set together base to base
One was bigger
than the smaller one
The hourglass was the same
Cept it was like two pyramids
set tip to tip
And there was only one
Then I saw another star
A star called David
and it too was made of two pyramids
If you pull them apart you will see
that they make up a kite
or an hourglass
depending on how they are placed
tip to tip or base to base
and I wonder if anyone else can see them too
In my site I could see
they had eyes that were watching me
“But what do you mean?”
I asked them “why?”
They told me to lay silent
and just watch them fly
As the sands of time help me unwind
If you can’t see them
they say “soon you will too”
The well of time is almost empty…
it’s time to refill
The sands of time and the two kites fly
to help us hear and see the ways
we must see ourselves
If we are to rise above
the currents of the winds that brought them here
for all eyes to see
Tip to tip or base to base
and I wonder if anyone else can see them too
Like I do...face to face
